Waste Heat Recovery Systems

By capturing exiting heat, a waste heat recovery system effectively helps minimize long term energy costs. IB&M supplies a variety of heat recovery systems and our staff will work you to identify the system that will provide maximum efficiency and cost savings.

Wastewater Heat Recovery Systems rely on heat transferred from heated wastewater to fresh water via a network of stainless steel tubing.  These systems can recover up to 60% of lost energy, which can translate into a 12 – 24 month ROI.

IB&M has installed a large number of Penn Separator systems, which offer a variety of Continuous Blowdown Heat Recovery Systems that are built to recover 90 – 95% of heat that is normally lost.  These two-stage heat recovery systems are compatible for a wide range of boiler systems.

Flash Economizers

Flash Economizer System can service multiple boilers with a frame mounted vertical design ideal for small to medium size boiler systems.  This self-contained unit can attain 90% heat recovery from a continuous blowdown of 1 – 30 gpm and make-up capacities of 9 – 150 gpm.  Available in 10 different pre-engineered systems.

Flash Separators

Flash Separator Shell and Tube System is a good option for boiler systems that need customized blowdown and make-up requirements.  With a 90% heat recovery rate, the patented Flash Separator is highly effective blowdown flash recovery system that takes up less space than conventional blow down systems.

Flash Separator Crossover System takes its design from the Shell and Tube System, but achieves a 95% recovery rate with the addition of a highly efficient plate and frame heat exchanger.
