Sloss Industries - Birmingham, Alabama

IB&M completed a total rebuild of a 120,000 lb/hr Babcock & Wilcox Powerhouse field erect Boiler. This rebuild consisted of entire replacement of tubes, super heater, refractories, air pre heater tubes, casing and insulation. This project required over 22,000 man hours all of which was provided by IB&M full time staff. This boiler stands over 4 stories tall with a firebox height of 60 feet from the furnace floor to the roof tubes.

After completion of rebuild, testing was done on this unit which showed dramatic increase in performance and efficiency of this power boiler.
 

Kincaid Furniture Corp - Lenoir, North Carolina

Industrial Boiler provided and installed this complete central energy plant which consisted of two field assembled Combustion Engineering Power Boilers, one Babcock & Wilcock 50,000 lb.hr package back up boiler, 90,000 lb/hr D.A. system, condensate surge/storage system, Zurn dust collectors and all solid fuel controls and handling system.

This plant was designed and built to provide steam to two separate manufacturing facilities. This 2nd phase of the project required IB&M to provide engineering and field services to build this massive pipe highline and provide over 2 ½ miles of piping which included steam, condensate, natural gas, compressed air, city water piping and saw dust return duct from both plants to/from the Central Energy Plant.
 

Shaw Industries Plant 4, Plant 80, Plant 2 - Dalton, Georgia

Industrial Boiler worked as a partner with Duke Energy Group to provide and install 3 Stand-By gas plants in order to provide an alternative fuel source for plant production during natural gas curtailment periods.

These systems allow plants to save fuel cost all year round by allowing the plants to qualify for curtailed rate gas opposed to the premium cost of firm gas.
 

Sonoco Products Inc - Newport, Tennessee

IB&M provided a "Turn Key" central energy plant replacement which consisted of removing two 60,000 lb/hr watertube boilers and installing two new 1500 HP low NOx scotch marine boilers with state of the art linkage less control systems and VFD drives.

Industrial Boiler provided and installed a 72,000 lb/hr rental boiler at the plant before removal of the old inefficient watertube boilers to provide steam during installation of the new equipment.
 

Exxon Mobile - Sackland Island, Russia

IB&M was awarded the contract to build 3 portable self contained boiler systems to provide steam service for a new oil production facility for Exxon Mobile in Sackland Island, Russia.

Each specialty designed system was installed in a 40 foot insulated container and consisted of a high pressure 150 HP Hurst Boiler, duplex feedwater system, reverse osmosis system, water softener system, heat/smoke detection system and blow down separator.

This was a time critical project in which our customer faced a multi-billion penalty if oil production was not started by a certain date. IB&M stepped up to the challenge which resulted in the first equipment to be set on the job site.

This system was designed to sustain ambient temperatures of minus 40 degrees F. below zero and incoming gas pressures of 200 psig which took on a new role for a portable boiler room. Industrial Boiler also provided for this project cat walks, steps, handrails, equalization system piping and exhaust stacks. These systems were designed to "plug and play" once they arrived on site. Through countless hours of forethought, man power and sound engineering practice, this project is a prime example of why IB&M is known as the boiler company who always provides "Performance Under Pressure".
 

Atlanta Federal Prison - Atlanta, Georgia

This was a multi-phase project which consisted of removing 4 field erect Combustion Engineering VU-10 Series power boilers, three turbine generators and 3 condensers. IB&M dismantled and removed two existing boilers and installed two large package boilers, then removed the other two power boilers replacing them also with new package boilers. After completion of the boiler replacement phase, Industrial Boiler removed the turbine generators and condensers. During this process the energy plant never lost critical steam supply to the prison. Once this process was completed, IB&M moved outside where we removed 300,000 gallons of heavy #6 oil from bulk storage tanks, cleaned two 600,000 gallon bulk storage tanks and installed a 30,000 gallon oil storage system for back-up fuel supply for the new powerhouse.

These are just a few of the projects IB&M has completed since opening for business in January of 1987. We have installed literally hundreds of boiler systems ranging from 10 horsepower dry cleaner boilers to field erect power house units. We also have completed countless outages and critical shut downs where time is of great essence. We have completed numerous specialized refractory projects, rebuilt many boilers and installed control systems in nuclear plants. Industrial Boiler has replaced conveyers systems in critical areas of plants where no electrical tools or cutting torches could be used.
